Who Stole the Head of Bobbi DuPree
Written by Kris Shuman
Logline:
After the Civil War, a jaded Union bounty hunter and a fast-talking Confederate grifter race to find a severed head with a map in its wooden eye—fifteen million in Rebel gold ahead of them, a trail of killers behind them.
Synopsis:
Set in 1876, this is the story of Sly Ledbetter—a Black bounty hunter with a burned face and a freak streak of luck—who wants out of the game. But when the severed head of a dead outlaw turns up, rumored to hold the key to fifteen million in stolen Confederate gold, Sly is pulled back in.
He’s forced to team up with Rimes Davis, a fast-talking ex-Confederate conman with charm, secrets, and a price on his head. Together, they set out to recover the head, outpace the competition, and stay alive long enough to see the payday.
But others are hunting it too: a fanatical priest, a brutal enforcer, and a trail of desperate souls willing to kill for a piece of what’s buried. Along the way, Sly and Rimes uncover a story much bigger than gold—one about greed, guilt, and the myth of who really owns the past.
